The song's pretty good, but the drums are killing it. Listen to KCearl's stuff here if you want a good idea of proper drums for electronics. It lacks the drive and punch that this kind of sound needs, it really has to hit you in the chest. So keep working at it.....

I pulled the 808 back, maybe too much. So the drums need more punch or more bass you think?

yeah this is a great tune, with loads of potential...


are you treating the drums on individual tracks?


I always find with samples that they all need to be individually heavily compressed and EQ'd to give them meat and presence, and layering the snare and kick helps too....if that doesnt give them clarity and punch try maybe a 606 or 909 samples, the 808 seems much better suited for hip hop, or less instrumentation imo


this has tonnes going for it...really enjoyed the listen

Yup. The drums aren't really adding much.

The vocals have this kind of sardonic, Cake sound to them I think it works really well on the verses, but the 'woah's would be better-served if they sounded more genuinely enthusiastic.

Pretty good overall though. You've got some nice melodies and a variety of sounds and change-ups.
