New short song review

very impressive! the guitar track is nice and crisp but it sounds like you've got some room to bring the vocals out a little, they're kinda quiet. also i would try messing around with some more harmony in the vocals and maybe guitar too. overall i would say nice work though, you have an excellent voice.

how would i go about bringing vocals out...i can never seem to get it right.....
 
Hi Derek - Listened to it on headphones at work. The guitar track on the left needs to come down a bit I think as it is interfering with your vocals. Maybe try some different compression settings on your vocals if you want it more in your face..

Other than that it sounds good to me. :)

Well there aren't any real rules I guess, just whatever works well for you. For vocals I usually start with a threshold of around -3.3 a ratio of 2.8, a short attack of around 0.2 and a release of about 38ms. From there I experiment.

I'm by no means an expert at compression, that's for sure. I picked up a UAD-1 card not to long ago so I've been using the 1176n and LA2A compressors wich to me are alot more straight forward..

Im using Logic platinum With Waves power pack plugins.....waves is supposed to be the best ..i guess like you said i will have to experiment...thx for giving me a starting point :
