That's pretty f'n sweet imo. I'd be interested to know what you are playing the guitar through. Amp, effects. etc. Keep it up!

Excellent song lukgier. It gave me the chills at 1:58, it was that good. I take it the drums are loops? The guitar sounds pretty damn good. The bass is tight. The playing and songwriting decisions make this great. It sounds like something from a video game to me (this is nothing but a complement, I assure you); perhaps Donkey Kong for Super Nintendo!

thanks guys,

I really appreciated what you say and hope your are honest with me.

The drums indeed are the loops but a bit modified by me to give them as much live as I could. I am not a drumer nevertheless ...

I'll be honest with you as for the guitars.
There are some live guitars and some guitars in background recorded with ... my keys.

The live guitars (Kosma) were recorded directly into the project throuh the line input in my aardvark direct pro system with no additional hardware gears inserted, but in the input chanell in cubase there was a NI Guitar Rig 1.0 plugin. The sounds in GR were tuned by Kosma and then by me during the mixing process.
The background guitars were recorded with my masterkeyboard through the NI GR and mixed in.

You have no idea how proud I feel seeing so good credits. At last I have done something hearable :] ....

Hey lukgier,

Nice mix, I had several listens and the overall mix sounds sweet to me. The guitar tone in the intro is phat....I love it!

The guitar playing at 2:55 through to the end is very well articulated, and the ascending run at 3:16 - 3:21 is executed very smoothly! :)

I found the guitar to be sitting in the mix perfectly.......not buried and definitely not over riding any particular instruments.

The writing and structure of the tune is accomplished well, however this type of instrumental (in my opinion...for what it is worth) would benefit from a fade out on the outro, sought of an epic like story.

I do have one criticism (designed to be constructive.....and once again only my opinion) and that being the keys that I first heard at 1:47, the high pitched digital whiney space sound: To me that was fighting against the guitar and I think the guitar was winning by a long shot!....I would like to hear the tune without that particular key track!

Overall a very well mixed, recorded and played instrumental lukgier...I am a big fan of guitar orientated instrumentals and I like this one!

Through my home stereo this is kicking and punching major butt! :)

Well Done! :)

Wow, this sounds great. It's sounds really full. I'm jealous. I could never get my stuff to sound that full. Awesome.

This is what I've been waitin' for!
I am glad Gorty that you enjoyed the piece but to tell the truth I was waiting for somebody who would catch his attention to the piano track.
And hear it is, thanks Gorty!

I probably know what you mean with what you're saying.
I didn't like the sound of this piano either but I had no motivation to do anything with that.

Thank you for motivating me to work on this track.
I could just switch it off as you recommended but this is the only track I am personally involved in. Even though I recorded all the track by myself except for the live guitars, just the piano track I am emotionally connected with . I hope you know what I mean. Everyone has his favorite tune, sound, bit, riff etc. In my music it's the piano which I love and a piece without this track would sound emotionally empty to me. I am always waitin' for the piano parts in my songs. ... such a piano-freak I am :)

but
I've just recorded the piano once again and please have a look if it sounds better now. I hope it does.

waitin' for your feedback guys

Hey lukgier,

The piano is sounding fine in the intro!

I don't know if we are on the same page here or not, the track I am on a bout comes in at 1:47, it sounds fine in context to the whole piece but maybe a little to nasally!! and maybe too compressed?

The guitars seemed to be buried slightly too much around the 2:55 mark!

I don't even know if you touched them this time around or is it just me!

Still.........A brilliant full sounding piece of music!! :)

Hello Gorty,

It's nice to see your reply again especially, that as you see, I treat your critique seriously.

As for the guitar tracks - I didn't touch anything, I don't know what have made them sound increased at 2:55 ?? it's curious but I'll take a look at it.

Which of those two sound better to you? third of forth? Which one do like more?
