New pickups for a nice Strat - need suggestions!

So, for those of you interested at the outcome, the new pickups make my Strat actually sound like Strat, which is just what I was looking for. Something interesting, though, is that the N3s have a third connection point for a common ground that enables the S1 switching to work properly, so if you plan on switching them out, you have to create a common ground on the new pickups. The guy putting mine in just used some copper tape on the bottom of them to create the additional ground plane, and it works like a charm! I am glad I had somebody else install them, cuz I wouldn't have had the slightest idea what to do there.

I think you did the right thing going towards a standard sound of a strat, the single coil does have its personalty that makes that instrument effective.

Sometime ago I purchased a Squire Strat on consignment with no pick guard and two humbuckers, I found the girth interesting at first, but grew wary of that axe, So I bought some split coil humbuckers, installed a coil tap switch, ended up selling that axe, a strat has a personality that's best left to be.

EMG-SA active single-coil pickup, an EMG-SPC midrange controller and an EMG-EXG expander which boosts treble and bass.

Hey is its good enough for Dave Gilmore it works for me!
