I like it, but the vocal was a bit shrill to my ears. I did a little EQ-ing to reduce that and it seemed to bring it into the mix.

out of here.webp

Thanks. My lady is asleep, so I will check it out in a bit. I did put the soundtoys radiator on the vocal for some distortion. Is there a better way to add distortion? I feel like that might have added harshness.

You could experiment with an amp sim on the vocal track. Use one with Master and Volume controls. Raise the (amp) channel volume to add/increase distortion. Each amp sim will sound different. It can get pretty messy when solo'd, maybe not too bad in the mix.

That sounds better, Spantini. I'm also going to tinker with lowering the plugin's settings. I might have had them a bit too high. Thanks for pointing it out. I agree.

I know this VU/Lou Reed stuff won't be for most, but objectively, anything you don't like about the mix or song? I like to get ears on things before I bring them to the local workshop. Thanks!
I love the late 60’s early 70’s vibe on the arrangement and the drum reverb and organ.

I listened on headphones and the drums seems a little low. The EQ Spantini did seemed to help that and well as bring the vocal out more.

Cool song and arrangement.

Awesome thanks. If you want me to give feedback on anything pm me. I hate to take and not give back. I’m not the best mixer so I try to not give bad advice lol
