Here's my newest song, "Off Switch" I recorded at home.

Using the Apogee One's mic for the vox, guitar plugged straight into it, and using software bass, synth, and drums. I'd really appreciate any comments and thoughts!

P.S. If you've heard any of Marianas Trench's newer songs, it's easy to hear their influence in this song.

Great Job!!! If your goin after the Mariennas Trench style then you definatley nailed it..good work!

Wow, that's a nice beginning. The synth stuff gave me goosebumps. Chorus was wonderfully voiced. Cool rhythm. I want to download it for driving. Can you give me a download link?

The guitars and synth overpowers the vocals and drums at points.

I thought the levels were overall pretty good. The song would be dramatically improved with a real bass I think. One think that helps to give a mix more "air" is exactly that.... air. I like to record bass parts with a direct feed and an ambient mic. Guitars seem to open up when you actually put a mic in front of an amp. Very good mix and song though.... enjoyed it!

Nice song and mix! I would bump up the vox a touch in the chorus

yeah, very nice. I'd love to hear my punch and dynamics in the drums. Not sure if that was intentional or not.

Nice!

I enjoyed it! Nice job!

Something I'd definitely do is add a vocal bridge at the 1:47-2:14 mark just before it hits the last chorus. When I listened to the song I couldn't help but to add my own vocals in that part of your song. I feel like it's begging for it!

But sounds good! :)

honestly not a fan of the genre, however, the intro was very interesting! I like the synth tones. I feel the drums were lacking dynamically. The kick could come up, and I agree a live bass would be better and could provide smoothness. I also agree with the synths and gtrs being a little over the top. Otherwise, you've got a nice mix :thumbs up:

Good song = melodies - music and vocals. Maybe it's just my playback speakers / system - but I agree about it needing a thicker low end foundation (more solid drums and smooth bass track) would set this song off. Just my opinion, the flow is great - it just needs a more solid foundation along with the keys throughout the main riff. I'm not trying to be negative - I really like the song - but, when the beat kicks in - it would slam this song into a powerful jam if the low end foundation was more present and blended in with the keys, guitar and vocals. Like I said, I really hear something modern with this song - it just needs that solid bottom.
Good job writing and with the current mix.
