New original "Come back down"

Hi peeps,

Just found these boards, and I'm sure there are plenty of talented people out there that can give me some great advice...

Anyway, here is a little song that I did a couple of days ago... Please give me your honest criticism - I know the guitar is sloppy in places and I'll redo it as soon as I'm able, but general helpful tips would be great?!

The drums sound much too loud, the harmonica should also have some reverb on it. The guitar sounds pretty good, including the nice electric licks u stuck in the backround. The vocals kinda come in with a bang, probably a little over driven.

As for the song itself - It's mellow, groovy, and I would defniitly listen to it more often. Your singing is different, but actually quite fitting to the song, so are the lyrics. The only technical things I would improve would definitly be playing the harmonica and spicing up the acoustic line a little bit.

I could go on for a while about the good stuff in a song, but basically everything I didn't list, sounds great, which was lots of stuff.
 
Thanks man - there's actually no overdrive or processing effects on any of the tracks... I wanted to give it a natural flavour... but you're right, I think the vocals could come down a bit - They do burst in a bit! I guess I'm just enjoying my new mic and pop screen!

The drums I'm not sure about... I listened to it through a few different mediums like speakers, Headphones etc and they vary a fair bit...

Anyway, cheers for your feedback!
 
Ok, I've stuck up a version 2 there as well - please let me know which one you prefer, and in particular if you like the ending of the second one... I'm still unsure about it...

Ok, I got rid of the first version and spruced up the version that now resides on Soundclick...

Has anyone given it a listen? I'd love some feedback...

pretty cool song, the harmonica is neat
a nice summer jam to relax to:D
