Aside from the other comments on midranginess, etc...

The song had a cool feel to it. I liked the acoustic part - it had a nice progression to it. I also liked the lead guitar part. I thought it could have been brought up in the mix just a bit.

I had a little trouble hearing the lead vocals through the reverb. It was a little on the heavy side.

Nice sound, the drums sound perfect. Cool song, vocals sound off-key at times though...should have kept it ALL acoustic. The acoustic verse/heavy chorus is soooooooooooo old.

I just got back from vacation...
Thanks to all you guys for very intelligent feedback. Some differing ears out there...but I think I can hear where EVERYONE is coming from. Crawdad's advice about running some CD's through 'em is good...hadn't thought of that.
Thanks everyone! I'll post an update when I've played with it some more. I listened on the CD player in my truck while away...it definitely needs some careful work, but I'm glad I got it recorded after 8 years! You guys are very helpful.

I love the song. I love the production and playing on this one. For me, the mix had way too much low end--in that 120 to 250 range.

Cool. That's (pretty much) what I said about it! My ears feel validated (And so do these crappy multimedia speakers )

Yeah, not to be too self aggrandizing... it's cool Sluice, that you've recorded a song that is one of your old originals. I'm doing that now with one of my 6 year old turds. Good luck!

A great mix and ambience. The bass is a bit boomy. Maybe the acoustic guitars and bass guitars have overlapping bass tones which cause that. But I'm listening with crappy headphones, as usual. This sounds like a professional track to me. You're quite an engineer. The songwriting is good, as usual from you. I like the vocals too.
