Cool music

Nice sounding tune - the only thing I hear out of place (to me) is the hi-hat - I think it's a little too dominant. Seems like it's second to the vocal in dominance. The rest seems spot on to me. Nice vocal!! Guitar tone is cool. I'd like to hear the whole tune!!
Thanks!!

sounds like a great start! maybe the highhat is a hair loud as mentioned.. maybe if you bring up the vocals a hair when the music kicks in it will help..(not in the intro).. look forward to hearing the full version..

gbav,

Cool tune you are working on there! I like what you've got done on it so far.

Regarding the new monitors;

I am hearing a bit of excessive energy in the 60 to 100hz zone as you are maybe taking too much liberty with the bass, probably because the low end is very solid on your new speakers.

Not all speakers can handle this much bass without farting a little as mine are doing, trying to monitor your mix at a healthy volume.

The top end as well is a little out there around the 4 - 6 Khz range. This could be a sign of the monitors being a little weak in their treble response and you are over compensating for it in your mix.

Try putting some store bought CD's of a similar genre of music though the speakers and eq them to sound right with that and you will probably get even better results then you are currently experiencing.

Your not far off right now from a very good mix and some minor tweaks will put you over the top.

Cheers! :)

Listening on headphones. The balance between the bass and highs seems just a tad off -- the bass seems to be dominating the mix. Maybe some roll-off of the bass may even this out better.

Cool tune and good playing throughout!

:D
