Hello! I'm a musician and aspiring DIY engineer with way more ambition than actual know-how. I'll be leaning on you all a lot in the near future. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie at recording, especially at mixing and mastering etc.. I'm just buying up my recording gear, and I've been messing around with mic-less recording, but I need some experience and some advice, so this seems like the place!

Hi Dude and welcome.
As a mere technician I can't help you with mixing and mastering but try me for other stuff.

I try to make it a point to tell noobs. In addition to all the "art" get some technology under the bonce. Nothing deep, just Ohm's Law and decibels. And buy yourself a 10quid DMM!

Dave.

Hi everyone! I am house/trance producer from Czech Republic. I started making music about year and a half ago and I've been playing the violin for ten years. I am very excited about this forum and about people here!

I'm also new here Matt, and equally excited about this forum. Hopefully we'll get to chat sometime! I'd love to hear your violin work, and possibly work together for film scoring in time? PM me and I'd enjoy hearing your work.

...wow this is new for me. I am a self taught musician and song writter. presently I'm using a DP-24 and AW16G recorders. I play guitar, bass and keyboard. I use to play in bands, now i am the band. I do it all producer, engineer, musician, art work, lyrics, and promoter. Question for the gurus, what is the best CD type to use for backup and mastering on DP-24.

Hi everyone,

I'm Matteo, mainly musician but I'd like to gather some knowledge about recording and this forum seems like the best place to do so. I have very basic recording gear, but hopefully good enough to make some home recordings :)

Assuming you have the X2442USB model. You need to select it as the audio input and output device in your DAW - assuming you have the latest drivers downloaded from Behringer.

Welcome to the forum Shaun,

You are in company of many others that do the same as you. Not a place to spam or promote your business. This intro sounds as such.

Let's just talk about recording, ask each other questions, and learn from each other. :)

If you show interest in the MP3 Clinic and give advice, maybe someone will see your sig line and contact you. That is as far as you can go with self promotion here man.

:D

No Spam Jimmy, just wanted to introduce myself, hence why posting here. (and just the once) :-)
I look forward to being part of the community.

All the best

Shaun

All good man, I wasn't harshing on ya. Just stating the rules.

Welcome to the forum man! A bunch of cool knowledgeable members here. Great to have another.

:)

No Problem Jimmy, Totally understand my friend.
Maybe you can PM me with some more information on how I could help out with the MP3 Clinic and direct me to that?

Howdy,

I'm here to get some feedback on a site that I'm developing at Mixbridge.com. It's pretty bare-bones at the moment but I have a good group of producers & engineers involved so far. The idea is to create a place where songwriters can go to easily find and hire producers, mix engineers, and mastering engineers. I'd love your feedback.

Thanks!

Hi I'm Jerry and I am wondering what happened? I have cubase Ai7 and all of a sudden the blue area above my first instrument. Well when I started to record, the white line at number 1? It started going about 100 miles an hour and it didn't do that before. It used to move nice and slow. Now it's so fast it's crazy. When I double click the track, It's slow enough where I can drag my notes to be on perfect beat but it's really fast on the initial front area. Also the ara between number 1 and 2 is astronomical. Thx. Jerry.

Hello, my name is Patrick. I'm a 47 y.o. male living in the Chicagoland area. I've been playing guitar for over 30 years, and I've been recording for the last 4-5 years. I've been using Audacity for the most part through an M-Audio USB interface, and I've been looking to upgrade some things. This looks like a good place to get recommendations and such, so I figured I'd join up and start asking questions.
