Hello all,

I've just joined from sunny old Margate (in the UK). I studied music technology and performing arts over 10 years ago and over the years have lost a lot of the technical knowledge.

Over the years I have written lots of (maybe not so great) music using software synths but am slowly getting back into the hardware side of things. Today my new (to me) multitracker turned up, it will be set up to record from guitar, vocals and my ageing digital piano.

Cheers
Jim

Well its about 10 years old now, would that qualify for vintage yet?

Thank you for the welcome.

You're right, I think it is a classic digital piano, but at least very useful. It should at least have MIDI.

Classic, I like the sound of that :D

It does indeed have MIDI as you have probably noticed by now (via the other thread that you answered). It is very useful, it replaced a much more modern low end keyboard, weighted touch sensitive keys make a world of difference let alone the quality of sound produced by the Celviano, also who could deny a piano with a 3 1/2" floppy drive :laughings:

This is a good place. Ignore the trolls (people who use the internet to annoy others with useless criticism) Check out Into The Lair and Recording Revolution tutorials on Youtube as well. Good Luck,

Hey, I still have a Roland PC100 I am using from late 80's, if it works, it is still good. Plus, lots of people are going after some of those old sounds, you are already there!

Welcome!
My Ancestors are from the Wendron, Cornwall area.
Been fortunate to have sold some Build Plans to quite a few folks in the UK.
If I can help, let me know.

Welcome to HR!

The first thing you need to know is that there are 3 classifications of gear: State of the Art, Classic, and Vintage. "Old" and "Ageing" don't come into it (except maybe to describe me!).

Although I've retired to Australia, I used to live in the UK (Bedfordshire) and have a very good friend (and guitar player) in Tonbridge Wells so not TOO far from Margate.

Enjoy the board! If you can cut through the off topic joking, sarcasm and outright trolling, you can actually learn stuff here.
