New KORG D16XD VERSES Yamaha AW2816

This new korg thing looks pretty cool. What do you guys think of the specs. I'm either getting this or a Yamaha AW2618. What do you guys think would be better in the long run. I see the korg DOES NOT have motorized faders like the yamaha. Thanks
 
I was also wondering who usually has better pre amps, eq, etc. Korg or yamaha. I would prefer to not have to buy that much external stuff. Also, the korg has 40 gigs compared to 20. How much are extra harddrives. Thanks, any imput appreciated.
 
I would go with the Yamaha aw 4416.I love mine.
Pre-amps can be chained together to get even the weakest signals up to a decent level.Space is not an issue because
all projects can be backed up on disc and restored later.
 
Yeah i would love to have the 4416 but i didnt mention it because I dont have that much money. The 2816 is pretty close to the 4416 in a lot of features though I belive. Pre amps and all that are the same?
 
I got mine used for $1200.Someone on this board was selling
one a while back for the same price.
 
I didnt know you could get those types of prices on the 4416 used. If anyone is selling one please drop me a p.m.!

I would go with either the 2816 or 4416. I have the former and have found it to be surprisingly simple to operate. The motorized faders are a definite plus. About the internal pre's, I really don't have a feel for their quality. I've wondered about getting a high quality mic pre, but if you're just running that signal into another pre, does that defeat the purpose? You can get expansion I/O cards for both which I guess could let you bypass the internal pre's, but I'm not sure.
