New Here: Question on Whammy V and Midi

I'm loving the new Whammy V, getting some cool sounds used with my cigar box guitars, but finding it a pain bending down all the time to change settings, especially live.
I know nothing about Midi but would a cheap foot controller like a secondhand TC Electronic G Minor work with the Whammy V and switch up and down between the settings?
