Hey everyone. I've been reading this forum for quite some time now and i decided to join (idk why i didn't join earlier) and I would like to build a home recording studio over time, I have big dreams and goals just like everyone else and i think that this forum i can gain a lot of knowledge from experienced members to help me get closer to my dreams.

My Equipment:
2007 Macbook Pro
Pro Tools 8
Logic Pro
M-audio Axiom Pro 61
Yamaha Ns-10's
mbox 2 mini
Waves Diamond bundle

im wondering what you guys would recommend on:
monitors with a better lower frequency response to go along my ns-10's
Virtual instruments for hip hop and RnB (looking at Ivory, Omnisphere, east west symphonic orchestra)

You almost fell off the first page without anyone greeting you Willpower.

HELLO!

Think nothing of it. Got anything your working on now?

I didn't respond cause I would have just said something about having a $1200 Waves Diamond bundle that is worth more than all the other equipment combined, yet he's a newb. So I probably would have said something about people frowning upon pirating software from the very companies that enable us to maintain our favorite hobby. And I might have mentioned that the forum specifically makes it known that they will ban people who use pirated, cracked, or stolen software...

So I didn't bother to reply :)

I didn't pirate anything. I bought it with my own money, it's the plugins I've become use to using bc it was what was used when I interned at a recording studio. Thanks for the reply though.

Funny, i would have said the same thing.

If waves platinum bundle hadn't been one of my first audio purchases.

Did he steal his $2000 laptop too?

OP. i own the ns10s. I guess they're useful sometimes; It's usually the end of a session for me.

I've used dynaudios, genelics, ns10s, HR824s and HR624s.

Out of that list, I would whole heartedly recommend the hr624s to anyone.

We had a very well treated mastering room at university with a range of top quality monitors, and my work from home using hr624s translated perfectly to that room. So much so that i didn't bother booking it again!

I don't really see the advantage of the 824s. They have more extended bass response, but it's never made a difference to my mixes.

hope that's useful.

Haha of course I stole my laptop haha.

I use the ns-10 bc I'm used to them and I actually
Like they're sound.

Really? I've never thought of the hr624 as an option. I will definitely look into that. And test them out. Thank you for your reply!

You hit the nail on the head. Test them out.

Really, just test out everything you can.

Advice from experienced users is great, but the bottom line is different strokes.

What amp are you running those ns10s on?

Hahaha yeah it took a while for me to save up specifically
For that so i consider it as my baby I keep it clean and everything because I couldn't
Believe I was just starting out and buying that expensive of an amp haha.

Ohhhh I see. Have you thought of upgrading or are you happy with what you got?

I've been thinking of upgrading. i Haven't even bothered remounting the ns10s since i came home from uni, and THB, i think the amp might be the reason why.

I've liked ns10s in other studios.

ahhh okay gotcha. yeah its a good possibility its the amp.
