Hey everybody, I posted some of my songs on here a little while ago, and i said id keep you posted on new things. So... I just uploaded a new song to my soundclick site. Its called "Pile Driver". It was inspired by a "westling match", and the main riff makes me think of this devistating move.

enjoy ;)

Dude, those recordings sound great and your riffs and guitar playing kicks ass.

How do you get so much punch man! I loved it. Its up close and personal. How did you get it to be so like...in your face?

All the drums and bass are done in fruity loops, compressed and eq'ed there.

Rhythm guitars are double tracked dry: left and right. Effects are added after the fact.

So basically im going by ear and instinct ;)

By dry you dont mean also clean right?? And did you actually go back and replay it or copy the same recording to another track?
And last, whats your set up?

Well dry meaning fender stage 1600 direct into the edirol ua-25. Distortion of course is the amp, and effects are applied afterwards. By doubling I mean playing the rhythm 2 separate times panned left and right.

My rhythm guitar right now is a really cheap ibanez geo 7 string, hopefully ill be getting somthing nicer with time :p . And leads are done with my Carvin dc127.

You recorded direct? Wow.

Also on the drums, did you record samples and then put it on the drum machine? Same with the bass?

All the samples exept for some of the random drum samples came with the program. The bass is a very modifyed synth setting, I just messed with it until i found a sound that sounded like a real bass guitar.

Anyone else?

what program did you use? and you mind telling me the settings for bass? :D

A great metal tune. Nothing to be ashamed of in that mix I'd say. I'd love to hear some vocals to it though. You've got an excellent basis for a great song here.

Dont take offence if I get this wrong as I do sometimes. Guitars sound direct am I right?
Cymbals sound imense.
Great playing and sweet song. Especially the bit where it changes around 1:30.
