Knows very little
so today i went to GC and picked up a Epiphone DOT Studio, a nice looking and nice sounding guitar in my opinion. Anyways, my friend has one and I like his, so when i bought this one I just inspected it, tuned it and just plucked a few strings. It was all loud and annoying their(as usuall) so i just bought the thing without playing it with an amp. i wanted to see what it would sound like on my set-up rather than trying to test it out while others are being loud and obnoxious i cant hear anything to begin with.

so, i got home, tuned it up again and plugged it in. FUCK. one of the pick-ups doesnt work, it goes on, then it goes away to no sound at all. they have no more there now.

my question is, should i have them order me a new one, or have the guitar tech take it apart and fix it up for me? seems like if he fixes it and re-solders some wires that it will be more solid than if i ordered a new one. i think it is just a wiring issue, because it goes in and out, with intermitent spots of static.

i really dont want them to order me a new one, i am hoping i can get them to fix it for me, that would be better. do you think they'll do that? or should i get a new one?

Anyone that is considering clinking on the Epiphone ad that the owner of this place is subjecting us to should read this again. Maybe even learn from it.

To hopefully answer your question with a question, why is it important for you to know if we think they'll fix the guitar you bought rather than send it out to be repaired or give you a different one? It has no bearing on the decision the manager of the store you bought it from makes.

i thought about purchasing that bass first, but i decided against it once i knew you liked it;)

i was asking because maybe someone has been in a simular circumstance and they fixed it there, instead of ordering a new one

it's an epi. if you like they way this one plays and sounds (on the one working pickup) then have them fix it. if you think you can get a better one then make them replace it.

yeah, i just had them order me new one, then the guitar tech is going to take that one and set it up good for me, since i dont know anything about intonozation(spelling?).

im actually surprised by their customer service, I called them told them this one was not right, i told them i couldnt come for a few days, the guy asked my name then told me to come back whenever i could. then two hours later someone else called and left a message, so i called back and he asked what i wanted to do. he said "whatever you want', so i asked if i coudl order a new one then have the tech set it up with new strings and make sure the intonozation was good, and he agreed. and i get to keep this one until i get the new. not bad, i am impressed for once by them.

ok bye
