New Gibson Les Paul

Looks interesting.... would dig having one, but my gut reaction makes me think it is like creating a Corvette or Porsche Hybrid car!
 
Kinda goes against what Gibson stands for doesn't it? :confused: Prestige, classic American stylings and all that...does look interesting but for 4k?
 
I think it's cool it has an "output", or channel for each string. Applying effects to certain strings could sound cool.

Not sure I'd be willing to invest $4K though. The price will (might) drop after awhile though.
 
Don't know about you, but I am not ready to connect Cat5 to my guitar just yet..

Actually from what I've been reading $4k is a mistake, it's actually $5k or $8k for the autographed model. Is LP's autograph really worth $3k. Either way I think it's too gimmicky for a company like Gibson, not sure technology like this will ever catch on. However people said the same thing about TV's and we all know how that caught on.
 
I started a thread about it earlier this year-just looking for opinions-I think I also commented about a network cable plugged into the guitar..
