Hello everyone i asked my dad if i could buy a presonus faderport to make my workflow easier. He asked me if i wanted to save and get something i really want or need. I cant think of anything i could need. I have a tascam interface a decent mic. Two great guitars and good moniters. Im only a single artist and occasionally ppl ask me to mix their songs. Anything anyone can think of? If not im just getting a control surface

Yeah, ignore the prick. I highly recommend the Faderport. I have no idea how I ever got anything done before I got one.

Ya i know it will help but will i need anything else? Like need anything before the faderport

That would totally depend on what you plan to do. There are always better of everything. What DAW are you using? Is it a limited edition? Software bundles are good things to have. It really depends on what you think you need based upon what it is you plan on doing with the gear. Not knowing what all you have I suppose I would include an external hard drive for backing up files and/or software installs. Creates a total nightmare when the inevitable hard drive failure occurs.

What are your goals?

Well being only a single artist i dont need much. Got everything i need.

From looking at your other thread maybe a new interface should be on your list?

I thought about acoustic treatment but im
Not that hardcore lol

Acoustic treatment is something I tend to forget to mention. For me it is a no brainer to treat a room before buying a single piece of gear as I was brought up around studios. And it's probably the cheapest yet most useful investment in quality of your recordings.

Cheap my ass lol. Hundreds of dollars for foam and traps

I built 10 bass traps/absorption panels for my home studio control room for under $200. Never waste your or anyone Else's money on foam. Foam can be used for certain issues, but nothing comparable to OC 703 or rock wool.

Why would i do the design if it doesnt work an looks bad

Dood, look at the link. The use of batting in this design is the only bad part. Sigh.....

Ok u didnt really explain that part lol. U made it sound like it all sucked and looked bad

LOL! Naw man, I'm not a dick. I'd never recommend something that didn't work. That matting in the design makes the panels look 'puffy' and stupid. I think the guy was concerned about the sharp edges and cloth. That is easily rounded tapping with a hammer. There's a few crappy pix of the panels in my basement on my website in my sig below.

Say i want to build 4 bass traps. How easy would that be and how much cost
