Well... here's the latest. I've changed to some new gear from the old stuff. New gear includes:
- M-Audio Radium49
- Pentium4 2.4Ghz
- Cubase/VST
- Single Shure SM-57
- M-Audio Audiophile2496 PCI interface
Still no drum mics or guitar/bass amp.
I'm really surprised how different the mixdown out of cubase sounds when compared to what I hear in the program. Mixdown pushes the low end WAY up and I have to go back to the original and tweak and rebuild and go out and do it all over until it sounds better. A serious task just to cut/boost some levels.
I'm also really surprised what a huge difference the AP2496 makes compared to the old SBLive.
The new MP3 is HERE.
The whole dmusic page can be accessed by clicking here. The new mp3 is called "Proof."
My page with more specifics about equipment, etc. is audiodev.tripod.com.
I play all the instruments as before. I know things still aren't perfect and would appreciate any comments/criticisms/tips from anyone that listens. The difference in sound quality from the old stuff really can't be heard as well via stream (especially low-rez) but its there. MP3 really degrades the sound quality. Even the wav mixdown sounds very very different from the original mix.
Thanks for reading/listening.
Keep up the tunes.
