New Driving Love Song

Kinda jazzy feel to the perc when it opens up, I can hear some of the limitations in your performances but I think in this sense you're recording is a true candidate for the listening room. Sounds like you really did put this together with your home setup whereas lately most of the stuff I've heard in the clinic has seemed like it's polished outsourced studio material. Not that I don't enjoy the studio stuff but it's hard to compare the studio projects with the home rec projects if you're not prepared for the differences.

You seem on a good path production-wise, I'd say just keep on developing your chops and maybe see where your writing takes you as you continue.

One thing, when i was listening the song it ended suddenly at 3:24 and I'm not sure if it was intentional but if it was I think that was too abrubt, at least for my personal tastes.

Always sweet to hear a song written for someone's spouse. :D

your singing sounds like Neil Young

i think, in my personal opinion, that the rhythm guitar just needs tightening up a bit rhythm wise, just to make it sit with better with the drums, etc.

in terms of the mix, ill just leave that to the pros...

Only thing that really jumps out at me is that the guitar sounds too much in the middle. Needs to be spread out more, as it just sounds like too many things straight down the middle. Try widening the rhythm a bit either by reverb or pseudo stereo, etc or by double tracking it, etc.

It's more of a problem when the lead is playing, cuz they kinda fight for space. Overall, it's a pretty pleasant mix to listen to. Things fit together fairly well, and it's easy to just listen to without hearing any major problems jump out or anything. Cool feel to the song too.

I was gonna say Neil Young :D

Nice grove. I wish my hi hats sounded as good. The hi hat on my old Alesis HR16 is lame at best. Nice job.

Thanks to all for your kind words and helpful advice.

Don't know why I sound like Neil.
