I finally talked our singer/songwriter to come by my place and record some of his new ideas.

The result can be heard at:
http://tyfon.net/~wa0043/
song called coco_casa_-_south_carve.mp3

Fruity Loops drums
Bass through linebox, rectangleized with L1+
Guitars are lined through a Roland GP-100
Vocals - Oktava MC012

Nope.. that's the swedish band that I named myself after a long while ago when I started playing online games.

Thx for your kind words. :)

this clip is the perfect examples of the evil that can be accomplished thru mixing alcohol and sleep deprivation......

damn good song and quite decent recording.....truly one of the most talented muthafuckas on the BBS.....keep it up and peace, my brother.....

Very clear instruments characteristic of fruityloops. I love it.

The bass really shines. It sits there with authority.

I love the upfrontness of the vocal and the tone you got. Very present tone.

The vocal dissapeared after "to feel this temple" though. It kinda got covered up. Such a nice vocal sound should not be allowed to get covered up. Actually, even the nice bass kinda got covered up when the mix got intricate.

MAN I LOVE your vocal Sound! Its big and present .Is that mco12 with the lomo head? Also , did you buy it from the sound room.?

Finally, I love the punchiness of the kick , but I think that you can add a little more of the low lows.

Thanx for the feedback, Cyan.

Vocals is the 012 with the cardoid-head, mackie-pres + various waves plug-ins. The mic is bought in Sweden, and I have no idea about what QC it's been through, but they both sound good.

I have worked a little bit more with the drums since this first mix. There'll be more variation and more 100hz on the kick. :)
I'm a bit careful about low bass due to my monitors. Vocals will also be a bit louder in the next mix.

and.. Gidge.. thanx man. :D

How do you get all the instruments over the fruity loops drums?

I think it STINKS. I'm NEVER going to listen to this CRAP. You've made me shop at WAL-MART for EAR CLEANING SUPPLIES. I could have done better in Windows' WAVE RECORDER... in MONO.

I'm ashamed to be part of an Audio BBS that has YOU for a MEMBER.

:D

Kelly. Does this mean you don't love me anymore? How can I keep on living after this?

SOUTHCARVE-

nice spacey tune.... really like all the vocal treatments, effects come and go in a very interesting manner, makes me keep waiting for the next one.....
very nice organic vibe to it, for using loops and whatnot......
guitars are bright and crunchy, nice against the smooth vocals.....
good drum tracks...... good bass throughout.....
i like this one.

Mattman: The drums are exported from Fruity Loops as a .wav file. Then it's put into a multitracker prog called Cool Edit Pro, where I record all the other instruments.

GONZO-X... Thanx for listening, and the kind words. I met the guy who wrote the song and did vocals/guitar on that one. He'll come over to my place on friday... lesse what happens.. :o :o :D
