New and renew equipment doubt

yeah, Xeon 2.93 Ghz, dual processors. I don't miss the 6GB/s SATA speeds. Like you, I don't think my drives are that fast.

I had an i7 machine before that was always BSOD'ing on me. I hated that thing. Gave it to my son as punishment for something. lol.
 
Oh, nice. Is that 8-core X55** series?
That's what I had in mine before I upgraded, or downgraded, depending on your use. ;)

Correction then, I went from Dual X5570/2.93 to Dual X5650/2.66. 8 to 12 total.

Edit: Just thinking, they're hyperthreaded so reported as 16/24.

Correction; I'm on sata III. My drives top out at 500-550Mb/s ish.
I know you were all on the edge of your seats waiting for confirmation. :facepalm:
