Ay' I need some critisism on these songs, Check them out, & give the truth, not anything to make me feel better, Because I know they suck, but give me your opinion & tips if you can, Thanks in advance, heres a few links to them. & I had assistance on 1 of them, & It will stand out alot more than the others for sure. But I'm in the learning process of using Fruity Loops, so if anyone has any tips on that as well would be helpful.

They sound fairly well recorded. Well I listened to the second one. I'm not a fan of electronic/ synth music. I don't know what your aim was, maybe a movie soundtrack kind of thing. I mean it's moody and all that, but I just don't get into loops/ digital drums and bass etc...but I like music, and by no means do I hate this.

so, keep on truckin'

can't say i like the kick sound in Decency..the orchestration seems a bit minimalist in my mind, now perhaps that's what you were looking to achieve, but i think it sounds a bit..boring? as if the song has little direction/purpose. it doesn't really seem to go anywhere if you see what i mean. otherwise the mix sounds pretty good to me :)

CHopping block sounds much better IMHO. the drum samples sound like there's a bitrate problem: they sound quite lo-fi compared to the string samples. this is a much better track instrumentation wise than Decency, it has more different parts, and it does appear to evolve much better than decency. perhaps you could get those drum samples at a higher quality? its particularly the hats, the snare is passable and the kick sounds ok to me. what's with the kit being panned to the right? it leaves the left sounding perhaps at tad empty?

i'd say music wise chopping blocks is stronger than decency, but mix-wise decency sounds stronger tha CB.

peace, MD :)

Thanks for all the comments, I tried my best on them, no the songs had no point to go anywhere, thats my trouble, I start out with a smooth bassline, & then for the melody I'm stuck on what "sound" clip to use, to make the melody, & what it should sound like to collaberate with the beat, so if you have any ideas on how to make that sound much better, or ideas on how to get a melody, Let me know, I need all the assistance I can get, thanks for the information & all that from everyone...much needed.

I listened to Choppin Block. Actually had a really cool beat, and the strings fit in well with it. Nice flow to it. Bass is big, without being too boomy. Nice tune.

Thanks a friend & I made that one, it stands out from the ones I've done alone, because he knows what he's doing..I don't :( :( :(

Hey, wow! A beat maker / producer type who is friendly and humble! Sorry, but that is pretty refreshing. Most guys that do this sort of thing just loop some generic drumbeat and think they are the next Dr. Dre. You seem to want to go somewhere with it and that's cool.

Anyway, I'm wondering where you're going with these ultimately? Planning to add vocals or something or are these sort of just dance music or soundtrack type things? What you're doing doesn't sound bad, but I'm with Messianic Dreams on this one in that the songs need to go somewhere and progress somehow. They seem like cool foundations from which to expand, but kind of lackluster on their own.
Keep at it. ;)

Wow, the first long comment with some sort of interest :) heh. Thanks, Well see I plan to eventually add vocals to a few of my beats yes, but I have to get them GOOD enough for vocals know what I mean?...& To me they just don't cut it, I start from scratch on every beat I make, clean slate & build into what so far is a masterpeice of it's own...sometimes they are just dance beats, more or less techno type, and othertimes they are good enough to add vocals with a little adjustment for the chorus as well, but I spose most are just for listening pleasure?...Until I get better at what I am doing, By the way I'm only 16..could be the reason I'm more "friendly" & "humble" :) (Thanks for that by the way), I'm not an ordinary 16 year old, Because if I was, I'd be like..."Yo dawg that shit is tight as a mufucka"..but no..I'm not..I think I'm growing up way too fast, but that's alright, I'm okay with that, :D...Anyways, I should be posting more of my work up sooner or later for listening pleasure or comments as well, Thanks for the replys

DITTO!!!! times a billion!!!

It sounds pretty good, you have some good ideas, but the above comments were spot on. You need to develop your songs a little more, and make them more interesting. I have to admit, I am very curious about what you plan on doing with this stuff, and that is a first for me with this style of music. Keep it up!!!

Hmm...Thanks, I will keep you updated on what I plan to do with them, but for now, it's just for listening aspects..but I will eventually do something to them I'm sure of it!...I have over 100 Different Styles of Beats, they are all different in their on way, & I will put some more up, if people are willing to give critisizm that is helpful & not hurtful, but As for now, I'll leave the ones I have up now, & If you didn't check out the first one, WithoutMe, just copy & paste the link , I don't think anyone checked it out I would like opinions on that one too, but keep replying, & I might put more up if asked..Thanks
