Need a decent B3 Patch for a song I'm recording. My synth - Roland XP80. Can't find the "Keyboards for the 60s and 70s" expansion card for sale anywhere.

The song really needs an okay sounding organ with a variable rotary type effect.

My recording is on hold til I figure something out.

I checked out the link. It seems I would need to use a computer to use the B4. I have zero knowledge of this type of recording. I'm using a DAW (VS-2480) and am just running out a couple 1/4 inch cables from my XP80 to my DAW inputs. I'm wondering if I could possibly modify an onboard patch to kind of "fake" the sound of a rotary speaker. I'm primarily a guitarist and am somewhat limited on MIDI/synth know how.

Try here for the expansion card:

Not a plethora available, but an option. I used to own an XP-80 and had that expansion card. I think I ended up using a patch called "B3 Filth" or something like that, but I don't believe that sound was on an expansion card. Took off the filth (which was just a distortion effect) and it was a decent patch. It's been 6 years since I had the Roland, so.....

if you're just running audio out, not midi

you could try using a stompbox to simulate the leslie. That doesn't help with the actual organ sound, though. Maybe sombody here could do one for you. You send them the midi file of the part you want done, they could run it through their synth (hard or soft) and send you back the audio file.

Just a thought.
