Need your Advice?

Hi,

Just looking to get great clean quality sound. Using a Mac to Record Guitar and Vocals. recording 2 Tracks simultaneously I am leaning toward MAudio firewire AudioPhile as my all my USB ports are in use.

Which is one is the Best one for me to choose?

Yeah, if you can, PCI is probably the best bet if you wont be moving around a lot. PCI is the fastest in transferring the sound. I know a lot of people who use the audiophile and have swore by it. If you dont live in England...well, im sure you can find one as cheap!

Thanks for the Replies, I was considering and external Audio Interface hopefully with Phantom Power to use with my Shure SM58 and a condenser Mic in the Future as well as my Yamaha S03 Syth because I am on a tight budget. I don't have an Amp or other Gear as I am a Newbie. Is the PCI a better choice?

it pretty much goes pci - firewire - usb.. go for pci if you can. if you want a cheap, 2 channel pre w. phantom power the m-audio audiobuddy can be had for around 100 bucks.

i woulSM58s dont need phantom power so you will only need that for the future when you get your condenser mic. Its always good to have phantom power on a soundcard, but not essential in your case unless you know for definate you will be getting a condenser mic in the future.

Great! Thanks for that...I thought for Recording Vocals it was a Must that I have a Condenser Mic and Phantom Power. But you're right I won't worry about Phantom Power till I actually get a Condenser Mic. I just want to say Thanks Again everyone for all your Help...I am checking Out the Audiophile 2496 PCI Card and the AudioBuddy as we speak. Hopefully I find something this weekend. Wish me Luck.
