I would like some help selecting the proper audio interface for my needs.

Computer: Powermac with 3gb ram, 1tb hardrive

Software: Logic

Instruments to record: guitar, vocals, bass, drums (I use a 7 piece mic set), midi keyboard

Ideally, I would like to be able to plug in all 7 drums mics and not have to unplug them to hook up my singer's mic and the guitars. Anyone know what the best audio interfaces are that have 7+ inputs and are compatible with logic?

Thanks for your help. Really.

I just got the Presonus Firestudio Tube and am very pleased so far. It has 16 inputs: 8 solid state preamps, 2 tube preamps, and 6 line inputs. I upgraded from an Aardvark setup that was nothing but problems. The sound is great, much better than the Aardvark stuff, and I've had zero problems with dropouts/crashes.

I'm using a Dell Inspiron laptop with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz and 3Gb of ram running Windows Vista. I know a lot of people on here say not to get anything with a DICE II chipset, but everyone's setup is different. What works for one person may not work for another. I did make sure to get the Firewire card recommended by Presonus-- that seems to be an important factor.

Whats your price range?

the presonus that was mentioned is a pretty decent one. I just got the profire 2626 26 ins 26 outs 8 analog channels with octane pre's. I don't have much expierence with logic im a pro tools and cubase kinda guy but i can def say research and see if its compatible. I dont have one complaint to make about it. :) $700 but def worth it!
