Ok, so when I first bought the Alpha that came with Cubase LE4, I used the standard ASIO Driver that came with the hardware and it worked fine. I use a Dell Inspiron 9300, so in order to get sound from the Lexicon, I'd connect the RCA output from the back of the Lexicon into the headphone jack of my laptop. Then, I'd connect my speaker cable into the headphone jack of the Lexicon, and ALAKAZAM!, I'd have sound https://homerecording.com/bbs/images/smilies/cool.gif. Things worked well with the Lexicon for a while. Recently, however the standard ASIO driver for the Alpha has been acting up on me. Usually, when I record something, I have the Monitor Mix knob on the Alpha set all the way to "Playback".(I feared no latency, I had it set to where it was hard to tell the difference between the direct signal and the signal the laptop was receiving) Usually I'm able to hear the sound coming from the instrument I'm playing, the sound of the metronome, and the sound of Ezdrummer(VST plugin) all at once with only minimum pops (a result of using a good amount of CPU to lower latency). Now, when using the Alpha's standard ASIO driver, I hear no playback from Cubase. The only way I can get sound is by keeping the Monitor Mix knob in the "Direct" area. Even then, I can only have rare occasions where I'm able to hear the metronome and Ezdrummer playing before the sound starts to snap, crackle and pop. After this little episode, I stop hearing the metronome and Ezdrummer, and I'm left with the lonely sound of nothing but my guitar plugged into the Alpha.https://homerecording.com/bbs/images/smilies/frown.gif
I recently saw on a website that someone had used the ASIO4ALL driver with the Lexicon and it solved their problem. For me however, when I switch from the standard "Alpha ASIO" driver to the, "ASIO4ALL" driver, I hear no sound whatsoever.
I need someone to tell me, is there a way I can configure ASIO4ALL to work with the Alpha? Is there a change that needs to be made hardware-wise also? I appreciate all help that is given.
