okay so i'm just starting with the whole midi setup for a one man band thing and i have a couple questions to ask.
first i have the software i need and i have the computer and i'm looking at this midi controller: e-mu xboard 49 (i would post link but i'm new here)
so now i'm wondering if i need an audio interface. i'm wondering why i can't just plug the usb straight to the computer or just buy a midi to usb cord. i know that's a dumb question but i have to ask.
second question in about the midi controller that i put the link above for. it's a 49 key controller and i want to know if i was to buy the 25 key version if that would be a cheaper (better) option. i know it has an octave button so couldn't i just hit that and cut out all those extra keys? i know every other option is the same for them.
i'm using reason rewired into cubase for anyone that's interested. i've been using a virtual midi controller for awhile and now i just need to buy one to be able to control the sensitivity and things. i appreciate all the help guys.
