Hi All,
I have an old cassette with "6 tracks" written on it. It should be 3 or 4 songs I recorded some 25 years ago (better not to count!), with an analog recorder. Unfortunately, I do not recall the brand. I would say I used an 8-track (as I do not think any 6-track recorders have ever existed...)
Does anybody know a studio or someone who would be able to digitize the tracks that are on this cassette? There may also be some noise reduction work to do but this is something I could do at a later stage.
Thanks.

Vestax made a 6-track MR66. Is that possibly the machine used to make your multitrack tapes?

And you're positive that "6 tracks" doesn't refer to "6 songs" maybe?

Can you remember anything about the recorder? Color, size, etc.?

Hi Sweetbeats,
This recorder does not ring a bell. I may have rented an 8 track and used only 6 for my recording.

Hi Famous beagle,
Positive, the recording does have 6 tracks (not 6 songs). My hunch is that I used an 8-track to do the job. Which brand, color, etc... remains a mystery!

Well, your options are Tascam 238, 488 mkI and mkII, and 688, or the Yamaha MT8X. Tapes recorded on any of these will play back on any other, so you are looking for somebody that has one of those.

Hi,

I do tape digitizing and can take care of that no matter what it is. Message me if you're interested.

Hi Level Anything, did you get my private message? I am not super familiar with the forums...
