Hey guys, i'm in the middle of something that seems to be too good to be true:D, so here i go.

A few days ago, a producer asked me (Via freelancer.com) to re-record guitar and bass for some songs he was producing for a guy called Anthony Hamilton, i didn't know this name, but after some research, i could see he's some major artist!!! (You can google him too)

Some artist video here:

Dear Life - Anthony Hamilton - YouTube

So, what he told me (The producer) was this:

I AM WORKING ON A PROJECT FOR SUBMISSION TO ANTHONY HAMILTON..I NEED BASS AND LEAD GUITAR PARTS REPLAYED...I WILL SHARE COPYRIGHT AND WRITERS CREDIT WITH YOU.

Then I asked him for some sample, and replied:

here is the sample that i need played over..
do a search on ANTHONY HAMILTON...this is the artist
i'm working with....

I haven't responded yet, because i'd like to clarify some things before i go any further:

1.-Are there contracts involved on this? I Live in Mexico, in a border city actually, so if there's the need to receive something, i can, or can they fax me some info and i sign it and send it back?

2.- Writer and Copyright credit: Are these royalties, should I make sure how much is that exactly?

3.-Receiving royalties for later: This is kind of a noob question, but can they send checks (To the US)? Never been in this situation before.

I'm more concerned about the contract part, since money can be a secondary thing (But I need it too!!), so i'd want to make everything clear before i get in touch with the producer.

What would you ask him?

I'm really looking for good thoughts of you guys, see ya!!;)

I'll keep updates about how this ends, or begins

Yes, you want to get a contract that details who owns what parts of the copyright and who gets what shares of the royalties (or if you just get a lump payment up front or what). There are also different forms that could give you credit as a performer or a songwriter distinctly.

I don't see why they couldn't mail you checks.
