Need opinions of mix

My bandmates and I are trying to get everything set right for recordings a cover band demo this week. We set up the mics and made this instrumental mix as a test and I wanted to get some opinions.

Any advice on this mix would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the snare needs to be up a little more and the guitar brought down a few db. Other than that it's hard to know what's going on with a short clip
 
well.. first question.. is that the sound of the instruments dry? cuz if so. it sounds really clean. i really have no "rep" on here.. . but as for my mixing opinion. it sounds good. i agree the snare is lower than i would like. but as far as the guitar. i think that would really depend on the final mix with vocals. but if this is just a demo and no vocals are going to be added . then i think its safe to say that yall are on the right track. choose an engineer wisely .. cuz that decision can make or break songs..lol.

I agree, snare up, and perhaps take a little compression off the bass drum and use some more EQ'ing instead - other than that it's good :-)
