need info

Hey guys and gals! I'm not really new to the music world as I've been
playing for 34 years. but, when it comes to recording I'm in the dark.
I have been going from Church to Church starting Praise bands in
my area and have been fortunate in having the use of the Churches
equip. Now I'm in need of the works. I'm tired of relying on others
toys to get me by if you know what I mean. I want to be able to use my
setup to record as well as preform. I need to do this as least
expensive a possible but with decent quality. Do any fo you have any suggestions?
We don't even have any mics. all we have is our guitars,amps,drums
and computer. I guess this is a start,but where to go from here,
especially with a bank account that would shame a Church mouse!

Before asking alot of questions that have allready been answered do a search here at the site. Search the threads, say the mic thread for example, for different opinions on micing different instruments. Go to the mainpage and read the articles there, hurry up though some of them may possibly be pulled in the near future. There is loads of info on compression, sound cards etc. After you have searched what you need come and ask questions pertaining to the details you are not clear on or need more info on. This will save everyones time including your own.
