Hi;
My lead guitarist just bought a 488 MkII (no manual)
I have previously owned a much smaller 4-Track Porta-studio
so I could figure out most of the controls and functions.
The "Unofficial 488" page helped more but I haven't seen
what the intended use is for the 2 "Insert" jacks on the front.
Anybody help me there?
P.S. I have seen some people confused over the issue of
4-track simul-rec as oppossed to the eight inputs (technically 12 inputs)
I think the best way to describe the 488MkII instead of 8-track recorder
is actually a 12-input mixing board coupled to a 4-track cassette recorder.
I mean you can record from all 12 sources simultaneously just they will all have to be assigned to one of 4 tracks. But what are these "insert" jacks for?
