Hey

I have 11 of my audio tracks which I want to make into a CD for my friends and family.
Each track is in .WAV form.
Some tracks 'merge' into each other (example : track number 1 fades out while track number 2 starts). To do this I simply copied & cut the end off of track 1 (the last 3 seconds) and mixed it with the beginning of track 2 by using Goldwave. Anyway, thats not the point.

The point is - that I have attempted to create the CD (using Easy CD Creator 4.02), and there is a gap when song 1 ends and song 2 starts up.

When I preview the songs in the CD Creator, each track merges into eachother perfectly but on the CD there is about a 1 second pause while track 2 loads.

Here's some of the specifics :

I'm using Kodak (silver) CDs.
I'm using disc-at-once mode at 4*write speed because 8speed seems to bugger the cds up (even though the CDs can supposedly handle being written at 8 speed).

Whats the deal with the gap? It's like a brief loading time or something. Is it the type of CD I'm using? I know it's not my CD player because i've tried the CD on a couple of players and they both give the small gap. The cd players can continuesly play other CDs (with merging tracks) without this gap - so it's not a 'loading time' or whatever.

Please give me any information which will help, because Christmas is approaching and I need to finish these CDs!

Thankyou.

PS: I've already said that I'm using 'disc-at-once' mode... so don't suggest that :)

That is a tuffie, I've had my problems with adeptec too, and out side of living with it, you can think about these things

1) Burn each CD from the hard drive - tedious and time consuming to be sure !

2) Remix your 1st and 2nd tracks in your software, so the hard drive sees it as one continuous play.

An often overlooked deal....

Go into the Preferences and look for "Pause". Pause is a default set amount of time that will be inserted between each audio track, and all software I know of defaults it to at least 1 sec, if not 2. Set it to 0 secs. The only drawback of doing so is that you have to then add silence either to the end of a song or the beginning of the next one to create space between songs. But, if you want to retain your crossfades, you have to set it to 0.

Good luck.

Thanks guys.

You, Sonusman, are a champion :)

I couldn't find the 'pause' thing in Easy CD Creator though - even though it said it was under the "effects" menu or something, i couldn't find the effects menu ANYWHERE. And yes, I did look for AGES.

So I used "Nero" to burn the cd instead.

Thanks again. Bye.
