Need Help with Beginning Home Studio Set-up!!!!Ta

It seems like the more I read up on home recording, the more questions I have. I recently got some money and have decided to put together a little low budget "studio" to record acoustic guitar and vocals as well as electric guitar tracks.

I have a Tascam Us-224 with Cubase software. I just bought 2 Behringer MDR-V900 Condenser mics which I am going to run (only 1 though) through an ART Tube MP Studio preamp to the Tascam US-224.

I have heard that for improved sound quality that a powered mixer be run through Tascam. Would something like a Behringer Eurorack UB1002 be applicable for this? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=rec/s=mixers/search/detail/base_pid/631237/

Also, I was thinking of getting an ART DPS-II 2 channel pre-amp to run with the ART tube MP Studio preamp so I can record vocals (through the MP) and acoustic guitar (2 condensor mics through the DPS to mic the acoustic) at the same time. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/180631/

Do you guys have any comments or suggestions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, not a powered mixer. A powered mixer is a mixer with a power amp all in one package, so you can power PA speakers from it.
The US224 is 2 channels simultaneous I/O, so getting a stereo preamp in addition to the single channel you already have doesn't mean you can record 3 mics at the same time. The US 224 will only let you record 2 tracks at a time. Also, you'll probably want something besides another ART, if for nothing else than to have different color. A M-Audio DMP3 is a pretty standard suggestion for entry level preamp. You can always just use the pre's in the US224 too, provided you get an external phantom power supply for condensor mics. How big's your budget?

Well, since I can't use the Art Studio MP and the Art DPS at the same time, maybe I'll just return the Studio MP. The way I can get the DPS because it has two outs and I will be able to mic my acoustic with both my condenser mics. not to mention, it's a better mic preamp than the Studio MP.

I don't have a total budget, but I'm trying to keep each item I buy (mic, preamp, whatever) in the $200 or below range. I can get the Art DPS for around $200.

If returning the MP is an option, I'd say do it, and then get the M-Audio DMP3, you won't be disappointed. Do a search on it, I bet you don't see one bad thing said about it.

Okay, so I found the m-audio new for about $80. I found the art 2 channel preamp for $215. I'm gonna give this m-audio preamp a try. I hope its as good as you say it is.

What kind of stuff are you recording with it and what's your set-up?

That price sounds a little too low. Are you sure it's the M-Audio DMP3. It looks like this
