Need Help with a simple Mixer Question.

Ok,
So I'm setting up my first home studio, and yes this is a noob question, but i don't know what kind of mixer I need.
I'm going to be using an iMac with Logic & Protools, but do I need a a digital mixer? I want to record multiple tracks into my DAW, have headphones and have monitors.
Getting DA/AD converters seems really expensive, and so are digital mixers.

Can i get some help?

This question gets answered at least once a day...

You don't need a mixer at all... what you need is an interface with sufficient channels for your purposes - that takes care of preamps, converters, phantom power and monitoring outputs all in one little box...

Scroll through these threads and you'll find lots of recommendations..
