I bought a turtle beach montego II sound card but I'm confused about installing it. There is a yamaha sound card already in my computer but it appears to be wired onto the mother board. Can I remove the yamaha? I tried installing the montego into an open PCI slot but I got messages that it is a secondary buss and may not work. It didn't work. I then removed the yamaha from the device manager but when I rebooted it detected it as new hardware and reinstalled it. Any help would be appreciated on how to disconnect the yamaha and install the montego II Steve

You should be able to disable the Yamaha in the BIOS. That should do the trick.

OK - I disabled the yamaha in the BIOS but the new sound card is still not installing. I get a message in my device manager that says its not installed or all the drivers are not installed. Do I need to reset the IRQ or should I take it to a shop and have them do it?

If you have installed the drivers...then you might try moving the card to another PCI slot. Without going any confusing techno-babble, just try moving the card (IRQ's are assigned by physical location on the PCI bus).

Always uninstall drivers before attempting to make changes to the hardware!
