Need help setting up..

I'm having problem setting up my M-audio fast track pro on my cool edit pro. I cannot make it to work, what should i check on the fast track pro properties? Under the bandwidth tab, under channels

I checked Outputs 1 & 2 (balanced and unbalanced)
I also checked 3 & 4 (S/PDIF and unbalanced)
the S/PDIF input is uncheck
I checked input 1 (mono)
I checked input 2 (mono)

how do i set this up?

I think you need to tell Cool Edit to use that device.

In Cool Edit, in multi-track view, on each channel there's a button to select the input you want to record. It probably says "Rec 1". Click that button. Does it list the Fast Track? If not, go to Options > Device Order > Recording Devices and move Fast Track from the left box (Unused Record Devices) to the right box (Multitrack Device Preference Order). If you want you can move it to the top of the list so it's the preferred record device in Multitrack view. You can make it the default device in Edit view by clicking on it and then clicking the button "Use in Edit View".
