Hi I have recently place another thread on this board regarding making a vocal booth in my apartment however, I'm starting to wonder if I should just make it big enough for a drum room as well. My apartment is on the top floor and has a huge concrete slabbed rooftop backyard which is where I'm thinking of building it. I rent the place and have already been given permission to build it out there. Oh and by the way it WILL handle the weight as my neighbor has a huge hot tub on his side of the roof terrace. The water in his tub is going to weigh far, far more than my structure. A ton a cubic square I think.

My reasons are I would rather record my drums at home where my desk and everything else is rather than shift all my gear to a practice room which I would have to rent out. The spaces to rent in my area are pretty cheap so not really a big deal regarding prices but like I said, it would just be easier and less stress moving all my gear around all the time. I could just buy a 003 separately for this and house it in a portable rack unit but still....

It would also be good for tracking vocals and putting guitar cabs in so there not in my control room. I wish I had a spare bedroom but I don't and that sucks.

I realize this is getting a bit long so on with my questions.

Has anyone ever got a decent drum sound in a booth before?
Is it even possible?
If so, what size should it be?
Should it defiantly have a raised floor?
Should I buy a big shed and soundproof that or build it from scratch?

I can't think of anything else right now so hopefully you guys might point out a few other things I might be forgetting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
