ok this is hard to explain so im jus gonna go for it. ok so im new to cubase. i use cubase so i can record loops consisting of drums and all the other blah blah blahs.i use my keyboard and vst instruments in the loops. now lets say im recording a loop of 4 bars. the problem is that after im done recording the loop i would like to record that loop on a seperate track but for a lenthg of a whole song(like 3 - 4 mins or so) and also mix the tracks while its recording so i could take out a sound on the parts where the verse would be sang or somthing like that. i have already tried the option of repeating the parts but then u have to caculate how many time to repeat. and i have also done the write atomation in the midi mixer window but that only works for the lenthg of the loop. what i would like to do is have the loop play back in my keyboard and let me re-record the loop on a longer track but have the same instruments that i played in the original loop played after i finish recording the second longer loop. then i could mix and stuff from my keboard. is there any way to do this or am i jus going into space here( i dont even know what im typing now) i have read the manuel 1000 times and the help files and found nothing so could i get some help here please. this really limits my recording sorry if i made no sense i did the best i could thanks to all that reply

I'm not sure I understand why you don't want to figure out how many loops you need. But if you really don't, why not just paste the part a few hundred times and clean up the extra stuff at the end when you're done?

Or do what I do - loop with Acid, render results to a full length wav, import that to cubase...

Please send a scan of your cat. I'll be happy to take a look at it...
