I recently purchased a Behringer Xenyx 1204 fx, a Behringer Powerplay Pro-Xl 4 Channely headhone amp, and an Emu 0404 Sound card. I have no idea the right way to hook all of this up, there are so many possibilities. I want to route everything into the computer to record my band. The mixer came with the Uca200 usb interface, but i don't know if i should use the interface or the E-Mu sound card.
This is what i need to do. I need to record at least two tracks at a time into my computer. I can record up to 8 or more at a time, but i don't need to at the moment. I need the singer to be able to hear prerecorded tracks from sonar 6 home studio( thats what i am using). Basically, I need to be able to record while hearing what's going on in sonar 6. Pls help. I thank everyone in advance for their advice and comments.

Suggest you read ALL the manuals. But, to quote an old BBS friend and expert engineer: "What goes in must eventually come out."

You can contact the manufacturers of your gear for help; some have good help sites; others, well, that's why they are "OTHERS."

I understand your dilemma--but, if you search some sites and ask some questions and contact the vendors and use input from the staff, you should arrive.

Like, you can call a vendor and "inquire" about some of your gear and ask the sales-person, "If I buy it, how does it plug in?" Et cetera.

Cheers,

It might be easier to use a mixer and route everything into that and than output to your sound card.
