Need an opinion on this mix

What did you do to produce? Just curious cause the Rappers are all "Producers" but I'm thinking you might be more my idea of Producer (from the olden days pre-Rap haha). Do you record too? Mix? Master?
Back to the mix - I like it! The arrangement of instruments is interesting and complimetary. The levels are good - I liked when the singer "took off" and everything got really good.... Nice song - pass my compliments to the writer/singer too.

I used logic studio in accordance with Alicia's Keys, VSL Strings, Jazz Organ and Pop drums wish Kontact 4.

I programmed the drums myself from scratch as I don't have a drum kit or drum mics.

I recorded the Vocals and Acoustic guitar using an SM27 Condenser mic through an Apogee Duet.
The electric guitars were direct inputs and I used a mixture of Logic's built in amps and Guitar Rig 4 by Native Instruments to get the guitar sounds.

I've done all the mixing and I've attempted to master it myself but obviously it will be nowhere near as good as a mastering engineer's job.

And I worked from this:

Me in the meantime.mp3 - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage

Thanks again for the feedback!

I'll also let John know of your compliments :P

Great song. I really like it. More snare, seems buried. Might check the eq of the kick. Seems a bit boomy, maybe what u were going for though. Some instruments at times stick out in the mix and distract from the vocals. It's a great tune, keep everything within the framework of the tune. I love logic!!!! I'm a protools user, but the ease and built in sounds of Logic are simply fantastic. Great job!!

Very good song. The kick is deep yes.. i would bump up the snare just a tad.. but that is my own personal liking a loud snare
