I'm recording on a Korg PXR4, which puts data onto SmartMedia cards in MP2 format. Need an audio converter (preferably a shareware or relatively inexpensive one) that will convert them into .wavs for editing in CoolEdit.

The one I'm currently using is from audioi.com (Complete Audio Converter Pro 2.0), which lets you convert to several different kinds of .wavs (about which I know close to nothing); the only one I've been able to find that even remotely sounds good is to set it for ADPCM (Microsoft ADPCM 44,100 Hz, 4 Bit, Stereo). But the files have all kinds of crackles in them, due, I'm told, to the low bit rate.

Anyone have a link or suggestion? Thanks!

Tried to adjust it, but it doesn't let you change the values; at least not so far as I can figure it out. I was able to find another one online last night that seems to work, however; we'll see if it holds up...

Thanks!

Maybe look at GoldWave. It might possibly do that conversion, and the "demo" version is fully functional, just limits you to how many functions per "session" you can do. Easy enough to overcome as it will let you save your work once you reach that limit, then reopen it for another "session" to keep working on it.

Good luck.
