so i just got my new Yorkville Monitors yesterday and now i need an amp
anyone have suggestions or recommendations????
im not rich, but i will do what i have to, ill do my own searching but i like to hear the opinions around here (very helpful)
so yea
amp????

Hafler TA1100 or TA1600, or if your budget allows, the P-series.......

p series

so is it worth getting the P series??
i mean for real?
cuz i believe i can afford to get the P1000, but if its not THAT much of a step up from the TA1600 i could definitely find other uses for the money knowatimean
im leaning towards the TA1600, but if you (or anyone) has some good reasons for me to step to the P1000 nows your chance to sell it!

thanks for the replys!

I've had good luck with a Samson Servo 120. It also bridges to 8 ohms mono, and makes a pretty good guitar amp when combined with a POD Pro.-Richie

I'm picking up an ART reference amp tomorrow. They sell rebranded YSM montiors so they amp should be well matched. I'll post a report after this weekend.

I have a pair of YSM-1i BTW

i use an old pioneer integrated amp which is about 20 years old. works great.

you can probably find a 1980s era pioneer or sansui integrated amp on ebay that'd do the job very well.

Cool synchronicity! I just posted about reference amps yesterday. And now I have more info on this subject:

Damn, y'all who recommended the Hafler P1500 over the Alesis RA-100 are SO right. Waaaayy better than the Alesis. I just picked one up and tested it against my Alesis. No comparison. The Alesis is up on the block.

Sorry GB9, I can't tell you how the P series compares to the TA series; just looking at the specs it appears the P series has more power. Also seems to sell for more resell (http://www.prepal.com). I don't know what they are going for new these days, because I picked mine up used for $200. Research seems to show that's a decent deal but not spectacular, meaning it's not rare so you may be able to get one for that. Hope that helps.

THANKS!

Im going with the TA1600, i dont need all that much power, my room is very small......thanks for all the replys! this site is extremely helpful. you guys are the shit!
