Its time for me to upgrade, and in looking at mixers I have some questions. Right now, I have a KORG workstation, but can only record 4 channels simo. I also perform live, but use borrowed equipment and volunteer help. I am looking for a mixer to pull "double duty", if possible.
But first of all, this is what I need: A mixer, 16 channel, with at least 8 (preferably more) direct outs, suitable for both live performance (mixing only), live performance (mixing and recording). I would also like to use this unit in my hobby studio.
I have been looking at these 2: Soundcraft FX16 (I like the 16 direct outs but am not too crazy about the built in effects) and the Mackie 1604VLZ (8 direct outs is a little shy, but useable)
Am I missing any other possiblities? (My budget is 900-1200)
Thanks
Brian
