Hi there,
I have the follwing gear in my rack and am looking for ideas to finish thing off:

Mesa Boogie Triaxis v2
Mesa Boogie Simul-Class 2:90
Yamaha SPX1000
M-Audio Delta 1010 soundcard
Palmer PDI-03

I'm thinking of getting the following and could do with some opinions:

Rocktron Hush Super C (is this a good model?)
Sonic Maximizer (need advice on a good brand)

I may also trade in the SPX1000 and get an Eventide Harmonizer 3000... anyone got any experience with this gear??

Hey Superhuman....looks like you got a nice rig going there! I run the Eventide H3000 DS/X with my Mesa tremoverb..It's a great unit for sure.

I have used sonic maximizers before and it always seems good at first, but then after a while you end up not using them
Hush might be a good unit if you have excessive noise/hums

What about:

furman power conditioner
a good parametric EQ?
A rackmount wah pedal setup?
A nice stereo compressor?
Rackmount tuner like the korg dtr series.

Just some ideas.....good luck.

Skip the sonic maximizer. I think it sounds like crap on guitars, at least the way I like them. I think that they should be gritty and tough, but the sonic maximizer polishes too much, and, frankly I just don't like how they sound on guitars.

Most commentators seems to be critical of the sonix maxmiser, and I agree. One of the things to be aware of with the BBE sonic maximiser is that the bypass switch isn't a true bypass. There is some circuitry there that causes the bypassed signal t sound dull, thus enhancing the the unbypassed effect
