Hey, just finished recording this cover of 'Wrecking' by Laura Veirs, when the string section kicks in halfway through the song, they seem to be out of tune with the guitar (might just be my ears), I've tried adjusting but, the more I listen the harder it gets, wondering if you guys could help out

Also any other mixing tips are welcome, haven't got acces to any good quality monitors so just a headphone mix so far..View attachment wrecking.mp3

Lots of bass on the guitars...maybe too much for my taste. The vocals are very nice - the reverb works well for this piece.
Tuning is easy - plug the line out of your keyboard into your guitar tuner. Check the tuning on your keys - may be a setting.
Personally I don't hear it as being out of tune - just "string" like which has wavering/vibrato (I don't play much keys)....
Mixing aside this is a great piece....

To me, the strings sound completely in tune with the guitar.

Like ido - I did find the guitar to be too boomy, but I also agree with him that the vocals were really nicely done. Nothing new here (sorry!). Just thought I'd confirm that I heard the same things.

The guitar's a bit boomy. Nice melody. Strings are kinda dark, but they're in tune with the guitar. I like the shimmer and the morph toward the end.

Aye, taken some bass off the guitars sounds alot better now, tuning thing must of just been my ears playing up. cheers for the feedback, appreciate it guys:)

Agree on the low end of the guitar. Agree that the strings and guitars sounded in tune with each other

Small syncing issue with the lead and harmony vocal at 1:31. Heard a couple of pops around 2:01.

At first I didn't like the heavy reverb on the vocals. But by about half way through the song I decided that it worked well.
