Hi, I'm looking to get some equipment, and as my cousin is in Boston (I'm in the UK), I thought I could save a lot of money (over $200!) if he bought some. I need to know some place in Boston he could get me:

- Studio projects C4's
- DMP3

Preferably the same place. If you can tell me of a shop that would sell those in Boston, I would be SO grateful! Thanks!

GC in Boston MIGHT have a DMP-3. They definately DON"T have Studio Projects. I know of nowhere in Boston that carries them.

How long is he going to be here? Mostly, Studio Projects doesn't do brick and mortar (look, ma, no SP mics in stores). You have to order them, and they could be shipped in one hell of a hurry. Guitar Center in Natick might have a DMP3 in stock. Send me a PM or email me at richard_monroe@earthlink.net and let me know what the time frame looks like. We could probably get both items shipped by next day.-Richie

Richie is a fierce Guitar Center loyalist. If they don't have it, he doesn't want it! (I'm just yanking his chain. I know he bought something from Mercenary once!) Store loyalty is nice, but for the rest of us sometimes you have to look beyond Guitar Center.

Parsons Audio in Wellesley MA gets the majority of my business every year. Though I don't happen to own any Studio Projects stuff, I know someone who recently bought a C1 and a T3 from them. I don't have any specific experience with SP, but usually ordering direct from a factory is a good way to insure you are paying the highest possible price. The exceptions would be gear that is ONLY sold factory direct, like Sytek and Lawson.

Rick Scott is my salesguy over at Parsons, and you couldn't ask for a more helpful or friendly contact. Plus they have great prices. If you can't find them, you can PM me for a phone number.

Wrong, LD, I'm not a loyalist. GC's just the only place on earth I can talk into selling me a DMP-3 for $119, which they did. For the SP mics, you don't order from the factory. I would recommend 8th street in Philly or Macmidimusic, both of which can do 2 day shipping for a nominal fee.-Richie

I see the DMP3 out there in ebayland for a buy it now price of $169. Don't know how fast they can get it to you. There's usually not much price flexibility on the SP mics. 8thstreet is as good as any to get these.

Or, from your house, you can practically walk over to Parsons which is a very real brick and mortar (or at least drywall and cinderblock) store and probably get a better price. (At least you should if you tell Rick I sent you...)

Well, Canopus, which part of "PM me for a phone number" didn't you understand?

Whoops, sorry littledog. I did find out where it was, and it was *quite* far from where my cousin is right now, so I felt it was asking too much to go out all the way. So instead we just ended up ordering (and gambling that it arrives on time). Thanks for all your help guys
