Nathan,

I see that you are now stocking the Josehpson C42. Have you had a chance to test it out? Is it closer in sound to a KM184 or a KM84?

Thanks,
Terry

Hi.
I've seen Nathan here a time or two, but I think he mostly hangs out at Gearslutz, so you might want to post the question there as well. Or, to be sure you get his attention, just go to Atlas Pro Sound and email him directly.

From what I wrote in EQmag.com

"Aside from subjective tastes...the C42 reminds me of a KM84 (mids/lows) meets a vintage AKG 451 (top frequencies). They are airy and open with a very musical sound. The e22s are a couple of notches up; lower noise, seems to be track transients even more accurately, top of the top shelf there (and being 2.5 times more than the C42, the price reflects this). Not to mention the e22s is a modular system that can incorporate other Josephson capsules with various polar patterns."

Hope this helps.

I'm not Nathan... but I've had a modicum of experience with these things... No, the C-42 is no where as harsh as a KM-184, it's quite a bit silkier in the top end than the KM-184, and not as brash in the upper mid/4kHz kinda range... bit "creamier" in the lower mids as well...
