first time integrating maschine into the workflow..I like it, great piece of software/hardware

anyway prolly wont appeal to many...bit repetitive and pretty dark...twiddled with the mix for ages

Great Mix KC. Sounds pretty seamless to me. Interesting use of odd note patterns adding to the darkness of it all.

Can't offer much in the way of nits cause i know crap about this kind of tunage.

Sounds good casey earl. So what does maschine do? It's some kind of controller, right? I don't wanna google it. What part of this is "maschine"? Anyway, it sounds good. Your other stuff is more melodic and song-like, but this is a cool departure.

it is a bit dark...i only here dark tones in my head..I wish I didnt, I hope its not permanent


glad the mix sounds OK, did take a bit to tame the kick samples as they were sucking up the frequencies

Maschine is like a self contained DAW with a designated hardware controller...I used it on the beats (prolly why theyre a bit basic) and one of the synths...just getting used to it...you should buy a copy then you can sell your drums and have more space in the studio? :D lol


glad nothing jumps out...yeah not very melodic, I wished it were but its just how they pan out..next one more tune, less farts coming at ya from every side

Great stuff, definately creative synth stuff, some of those dubstep wobble things are really great Keith, mix sounds spot on.

Thanks for listening Pete...cool about the mix, Im cutting out a lot more mid range in my tracks and I thinking its improving the mixes...now stuff from fairly recently is starting to sound much more muddy in comparison...
 
Sounds good - I find the snare drum is a little loud in the less busy spots but okay in others. Mix is nice and clean otherwise.... WTH is that guy saying anyway? Lots of cool patches, effects and synth sounds kept me very captivated. Supposed lack of melody was not an issue with all that was going on IMO.

thanks Gerry...I really whacked up the volume on the snare in the breaks...I wanted it to really ring through but it doesnt A/B very well on other speakers...some it sounded OK, some too loud...Ill hear what the general consensus is..Im not even sure its the best sample for it

the guys saying "Ill show you fucking nasty" and Im saying "Ive got my finger on the trigger"...too many boyz in the hood films I reckon ;)

kicks a bit boomy on my walkman...Ill revisit that second snare when i tweak the kick

I'm digging it man. Maschine is awesome, is it not???

I haven't messed with it personally but a friend of mine that does similar work to this genre uses Maschine all the time. Actually his collection NI DAW components is amazing.

Yeah its much more than I expected...just wanted something portable and creative for beats but its almost an all in one DAW...and also works as a sampler, (Ive made three instruments out of Kraftwerk samples in the first day), and even as an FX unit in Live 8...I think it could turn out to be something great if they keep going in this direction

This sounds great kc - I got no nits at all.

Made me think of Andrew Weatherall's stuff as Two Lone Swordsmen if you know any of that. The drops sound good and love the change up at around 3.00.

Now I want to get me some gadgets :D
 
I like it. Definitely more eerie than your other stuff, but I don't think there's a lack of melody or anything. Lots of surprises thrown in, so no monotony issues. I like the little part at 2:00. My only suggestion would be maybe tightening up the kick a little bit. For me, electronic stuff needs to have a really punchy kick. The rest sounds great, good work !

Yeah gadgets..more gadgets lol, Im trying not to get GAS...I still havent even peeled the price tag off the prophet yet so got some studying to do...fun studying :D

spot on mate..the kick is way too boomy...it needs a tight kick in this I reckon, its not like youre dancing to it..I never noticed it so much until I had my walkman on yesterday and you think, sounds all right, until a commercial track comes on and whoof, it sound like your banging a wooden spoon on the belly of a 200lb man...dont ask me how I know that!

just uploading a newer mix with some tweaks...may have went too far but its pub and football day today so music can wait...priorities and all that ;)

I like the haunting qualities of it, you're definately very creative. The part in 2:00 is just plain crazymushroomness, which I also happen to like. Reminds me of a festival I went to (not the music mind you, but the ehh whole vibe).

hahaha I remember mushroom, never knowing whether to piss, shit, or vomit...all while hallucinating...great stuff :D

glad you enjoyed it mate...definitely a bit dark, a bit too dark...its not like Im miserable

I think the new tweaks are better
